God Bless All You Long Distance Lovers Out There

The latest news is that we are on our way to getting engaged and hopefully be living in the same city in a matter of 6+ months. We have to make a vital decision about weather I will move back to SF or he will make the move to SD. Both options have their pros and cons, and I think it is a matter of where we see ourselves raising our kids. If it were up to me, that would be San Diego, primarily because we would have the support of family around us. But there are other important factors, such as job opportunities to consider.

At this point, I am just excited to be moving towards a goal and setting a date officially. It makes this whole distance thing worth it.

Does anyone else have some perspective on this? It seems to me that when you have an end-date in sight, it is much easier to overcome the obstacle of distance. Obviously, we were not made to maintain significant relationships such as these with miles and miles between us; sooner or later, the overwhelming need to physically live next to someone becomes a priority. A choice must be made, and a sacrifice at that.

God bless all you long distance lovers out there. For some, our relationships will end in a lifetime spent together, and for others, they may end in dead static of a phone call hang-up, a feed of novel-worthy texts, and the absolution of online connectivity. To all of us who are struggling to discern what is the right end for our LDR, I salute you.
